Mentoring

You may be aware of the story of Odysseus going off to war and leaving the responsibility of his son's training to his old friend Mentor. His son was to be ruler one day and needed to be skilled and knowledgeable - not unlike a business owner.

Being in business means having the responsibility of making decisions and assuming accountability for the future survival of the company. Some businesses fail because the entrepreneur simply could not gain the skills necessary quickly enough to build a firm foundation from which to survive and grow.

Mentoring provides an opportunity for inexperienced business owners to seek guidance from experienced entrepreneurs on the many facets of business. Through mentoring they can learn how to prioritize goals, set measurable objectives and develop plans to achieve success.
